Maha Kumbha Mela - The Cultural extravaganza of India

chitrannaa.blogspot.com
The images of Indian cultural extravaganza, The Maha Kumbha Mela are flashing across the media - both print   and visual, all over the world. There are images of sadhus, tents, temples, lamps and of course foreign visitors. But I am afraid  instead of highlighting the essence and the cultural value of the mega event, the focus is more on getting the snaps of the nude sadhus or sadhus smearing ash on their bodies or wearing odd costumes, lengthy hairs or nails. Besides the  ash smeared ascetics, wide-eyed stars and tourists and millions of pilgrims thronging the Ganges for a holy dip, there are a lot more interesting facts and intricacies involved in this mystique event.

WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF KUMBH MELA?

I consider myself very fortunate that I am born in India, a country which hosts one of the famous Seven Wonders of the World - TAJ MAHAL. And given a chance I would like to have a dinner date with the Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan  You may want to know why...But first things first.

Finish the Sentence Friday Blog Hop #24

This post is to participate in "Finish the Sentence Friday Blog Hop #24"

GOOD Morning....
chitrannaa.blogspot.in

What do you think? Will it be getting up early morning and losing that sweet lingering sleep?

When the golden sun will be blessing us with rays filled with life and energy, when the birds start chirping in their melodious voice and when the sweet flowers start spreading their vibrant fragrance and when yoga and kapalbhati are beckoning who wants to sleep?

GOOD afternoon...

Preparing the food according to the different tastes and fancy of every one in the home?

Common... Not everyone is blessed by Goddess Annapoorneshwari to be able to enjoy cooking and serving. Cooking is the most creative art and can never bore me....

Going to office and working from 9 to 5? Lord Krishna has told " Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma phaleshu kadachana " meaning " You do your duties sincerely and leave the rest to me.I will take care." And so is the motto of my great organisation - Life Insurance Corporation of India - which declares " Yogakshemam Vahamyaham " which again means " Your care is my concern. So I am blessed with this job and it is the most fulfilling part of my day...

GOOD evening...
Coming back home to the demanding and expecting children and the pet dog Pogo? On the contrary...
In the company of my most understanding family and my favorite Pogo, the time just flies and as for  fulfilling their demands, as they say "change of work is relaxation."

And the dinner? The most anticipated and awaited moment when you have taught your children how to cook...

GOOD night....

Can't sleep early? Is that a problem? My dear, it is said that " sleeping is death by slices." So be happy that you are awake because there is very little difference between sleep and death.

GOOD life...

Problems are only in our thinking and our minds.Just look around. Humans are the most blessed of God's creations. Every moment is precious, every hardship is a lesson and every experience is a learning. So nourish and cherish this wonderful LIFE!!!
